Although they are bashing at someone who has not done a thing yet, they are concerned where this country will be going because at the end the decisions that Obama will do will affect everyone living in the country.
I'm not bashing him as a person. I'm sure that he is a wonderful person. Never met the guy... but he seems to have his shit together.
I'm bashing his platform. Making promises to the American people that aren't possible/reasonable. Its kinda like the proverbial high school class president nominee saying that he will remove math from the curriculum. Its not possible... but he said it to get elected. That's how I feel about it. I don't hold any malice towards him as a person. Just as a politician.

About the race thing. I was happy that a black person got elected to be president. It shows a huge improvement in the US society. The day Obama won i thought that every republican, democrat and what not should be happy for that advance in color barrier.
Honestly, If Colin Powell had ran, I would have voted for him. Once again, I don't give a shit if your green, white, blue, black, purple... If your qualified your qualified. Color doesn't matter.
The idea that there has been this "glass ceiling" out there since the 70's is just bullshit.
If there had been a capable African American nominee available up to Obama, there is a good chance he could have gotten elected.
Jesse Jackson(A Reverend), Alan Keyes(A EXTREEEEEMELY right winged failed politician), Al Sharpton(jesus...its fucking Al Sharpton, do i need to say more?), Lenora Fulani(a psychologist), and Carol Moseley Braun(a US Senator.. the most capable of the group but least heard of)
None of these people are worth their weight in salt in a presidential political arena.
