Although they are bashing at someone who has not done a thing yet, they are concerned where this country will be going because at the end the decisions that Obama will do will affect everyone living in the country.

I'm not bashing him as a person. I'm sure that he is a wonderful person. Never met the guy... but he seems to have his shit together.

I'm bashing his platform. Making promises to the American people that aren't possible/reasonable. Its kinda like the proverbial high school class president nominee saying that he will remove math from the curriculum. Its not possible... but he said it to get elected. That's how I feel about it. I don't hold any malice towards him as a person. Just as a politician.

About the race thing. I was happy that a black person got elected to be president. It shows a huge improvement in the US society. The day Obama won i thought that every republican, democrat and what not should be happy for that advance in color barrier.

Honestly, If Colin Powell had ran, I would have voted for him. Once again, I don't give a shit if your green, white, blue, black, purple... If your qualified your qualified. Color doesn't matter.

The idea that there has been this "glass ceiling" out there since the 70's is just bullshit.

If there had been a capable African American nominee available up to Obama, there is a good chance he could have gotten elected.

Jesse Jackson(A Reverend), Alan Keyes(A EXTREEEEEMELY right winged failed politician), Al Sharpton(jesus...its fucking Al Sharpton, do i need to say more?), Lenora Fulani(a psychologist), and Carol Moseley Braun(a US Senator.. the most capable of the group but least heard of)

None of these people are worth their weight in salt in a presidential political arena.

I was happy for the whole race barrier thing being broken, but that's not why we elect presidents.

Wouldn't that be considered a bit racist?

It surely would have if I had voted against him because he was black.

How could it not be the same thing that some voted against McCain because he was white?

the reason the American people vote is because they are trying to pick the best person for the job. If they voted for other reasons then they are ignorant.

Ive probably said this a million time to people. First, Hes taxing the rich($250,000 and over). Thats good for me, because i dont think my family makes that amount of money.

Hes taking a large amount of soldiers out of iraq. And if we stay in Iraq, we are just losing more money. The u.s spends $270 million dollars a day on war. The national debt is over $11 billion dollars. Taking soldiers out of iraq will cut that in half.

Now this is just the stupid reason, but for Barack Obama, an African American, if he can become President of the United States, anything is possible. He is our first african american president.

Why should the rich suffer for the poor? You're a rich entrepreneur. You amke a shitload of money because you got an education. and now some president is going to come in and take more of your money than they already do? this is trying to make the country equal and socialist by taking from the rich to aid the poor. mostly via healthcare

ill be waiting...

considering hes already starting to change his ideas from what he originally got elected for, i.e. his views of getting us out of an economic recession, I'm sure things will be alright. change change change, keeps on changing
