Exactly, its not like the Lakers destroyed the Celtics. Both teams played well and the game went down to the last few shots.
I am happy that this was a series that went to 7 games. It brought back the old rivalry, let a few of the veteran players get one last chance at being immortalized. (Pierce, Garnett, Allen, Wallace).
I am all for the Celtics and I dont know how the game would of been if Perkins wasn't injured but I will say that the team that dominated the boards ultimately won the game because the Lakers had a poor shooting percentage. Having Perkins out there crashing the boards and being the dominate low post defender he is would of changed the outcome of the game.
One thing I will say is that I dont like how the refs were being inconsistent. They let HUGE fouls slide while calling silly petty hand slaps. Celtics rarely went to the foul line and the Lakers were able to cut the margin from free throw attempts.
Well, what can you do? It was a home game and the home crowd came out and supported their team. They don't call it home court advantage for nothing.

This Boston Celtics team will go down as one of the best, their ability to literally pick up 3 superstars who were dominate back in their prime to commit to a common goal and play unselfish basketball. The Celtics committed to defense and all around ball movement. It was very exciting and a thing of pure beauty watching these Celtics play, its a shame their fate was on the line after that game. Rasheed Wallace might retire, he was visibly out of it in the game. Coach Doc Rivers might step down to spend more time with the family and the fate of Ray Allen is still uncertain. Garnett has always been my favorite player but even he is getting old and it's only a matter of time before he will hang up his shoes.

Props to the Lakers and Celtics for putting on a spectacular series and wild card people such as Artest for stepping up. (his press conference and interview was hilarious, QUEENSBRIDGE)

Now the question is, will Kobe win one more making him even with the greatest player to ever play the game of basketball?

edit. he still is and will never be better than Jordan. nuff said.
