Okay, as you all know i wanna be a Game Designer really badly, what are good classes i should take in HighSchool that can benefit me in my future? I've got 2 classes in mind - Computer Graphics 1 and when i'm a Jr. i'll take Programming 1 that's all i have in mind. What are other good classes that can help me in the future? Keep in mind i'll prolly have to re-take Spanish 1 next year since i suck so much at it so i can only take 1 Activity class on Sr. year, unless i get lucky and pull it off (total grade is a D, but we got interims today and i have an F, she said were gonna have "pop-quizzes" everyday cuz our class behavior sucks, but it's just too fun lol. But a great chance to sky-rocket my grade, we had one today and i may have gotten a D or a C) and all my grades are B's or higher, except Spanish of course. Some tips would be nice |

You might actually want to try something in the arts. I.E. Drawing. No joke. Otherwise, anything with computers. |

what about like any computer design classes. or you might want to try a CAD class. its more for engineering but im sure the design programs would be similar. you can create 3D images and stuff. |

No joke. yeah i was thinking that, but i suck at drawing and i would love to tell my programmers on how i want my characters to look like, so i might try Infamous's idea since i can't draw, maybe i have an art for computer drawing or something lol but not a bad idea, i'll keep it in mind if my school has it (wanted to take netowrk admin but my school doesn't have that)
Otherwise, anything with computers. |

For game Designing you are going to have to draw and what not, Take both computer graphics and some other drawing (not on computer but on paper and what not) I don't know about programing since its mostly html and java stuff, which I doubt you would have to use when being a game designer. Just keep looking on the arts section for academy classes in that field and art classes that are more than just one year. |

lol, lucky ur a lucky sophmore :P but i will be taking programming, i would love to learn that kinda stuff and loosen up a bit and my Art 1 teacher told me in Art 2 you have to take tests and u have to do projects, which, doesn't sound that great since it would shove more into my schedule but i guess the saying "no pain, no game" comes in :P idk, i'll put some thought into that, thanks again guys! keep the ideas coming! |

if your not doing so well in a foreign language you might want to avoid programming. Programming is basically speaking a different language, and if you cant pick up Spanish then you may have difficulties learning anything else. But, thats just my take on it. Some people just pick that shit up like its nothing to do. |

Crappy? Best on the state son. Is a class for networking. You learned pretty much everything aobut xp and some server on the first year, also you apply for certification. The class is also a business class so they teach how do interviews and how to make a good resume. |

Resume and Job Interviewing skills* It's an Academy course, not some joe-shmo regular school programming class. And our school IS the top ranked Network Administration course in the State. 98% of the students leave with AT LEAST their MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional) every year, if not more such as their MCDST (Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician), MCSA (Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator), or MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineers). You can test for 7 Certifications in total, which is backed up by a shit load of assistance like 3 Textbooks (Not watered down for High Schools, the serious stuff; Windows XP Pro, Windows Server 2003, and Windows Networking Essentials), and Microsoft Testking Study Guides which cost quite a lot alone. Your also taught a lot of other networking essentials like basic and advanced subnetting, etc. Best class you'll ever take, period. |
