That universal mind intro will be tough but I might be able to pull it off.

Thats the ole practice amp there and a pawnshop Ibanez i got for $150. At the practice room I use a Ibanez PGM301 Paul Gilbert model, Early 90's Peavey 5150 Block Letter Head, Mid-90's Marshall 4x12 cab and occasionally an Ibanez 7 string.

BTW I don't think you can find a better amp for under $100 than that Line 6 Spider 112. I used to have that half stack in my room and I couldn't even turn it up, this makes much more sense for room music.

Since we are talking about guitars and stuff. I was wondering if anyone of you guys knows any good strings for the guitar. Got my guitar, played with it, and the strings are so bad :(

depends on what you are tuning to, or if you like slinky feeling strings or really tight strings.

Guitar string slang:

9's - Usually as small as you want to go if you are tuning standard EADGBE
10's - Still a good feel for standard, a little tighter. Good for half step down.
11's - Tight like a tiger, good for half step or whole step down
12's - Great Scott Marty. Your either a man, or your tuning way low.
13's - SRV played these things(and bigger maybe) with 5 springs in the back of his Strat. ManVille.

I use D'addario and Ernie Ball strings. Both are good and pretty cheap.

Ernie Ball makes a pack called the Hybrid Slinky that gives you a light top and heavy bottom. Kinda the best of both worlds if the fat strings on a set of 9's are too slinky for you.

Be careful if you are playing the big strings in standard tuning, this can have a negative effect on your guitar neck. Think of that time you tried to pick up your car and it really hurt your arms, now think of picking up a bike, but you couldn't do it cause your arms were all bent out of shape from trying to lift the car.

Your neck will bend and take work to get it back in line.

That does not always happen, and it rarely happens overnight so don't be afraid to try stuff until you find what you like. I have a different set on every couple of days. Tuning low, tuning standard, tuning in between.

Ya I use D'addario light nickel wounded string.

But Gigi do you play....

1. Acoustic Guitar
a) Classical
b) Steel String

2. Electric Guitar
a) Fixed Bridge
b) Floating Bridge

or (which is most likely the case :D)

3. Banjo

I honestly found it easier to start playing guitar with flatwound electric strings on my accoustic. Be sure to try and get the largest size electrics you can or they wont stay tuned very well. They tend to be a bit softer and you can hit notes a bit easier, but the trade off is that you dont have the cleanest sound like you do with accoustic specific strings.
