So im getting my mustang back on wensday and Im gonna drag race this guy at school.
He has a honda civic, I dunno which year but he has a really big muffler and a B 16 motor and thats all.

My mustang came with 240 pounds of torque stock and Ive done a few mods to it, Ive put a magnaflow exaust on it and also made a custom air intake with a k&N filter in it and also re-tuned it with a diablo predator tuner, estimating everything I beleive I have 260 horse power and around 280 pounds of torque.

Do I have him cause I have no idea what a B 16 is?

The B = civic and integra motor
16 = 1.6 litre

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_B_engine#B16A

It will be well below 200 hp (and 110ft lbs) unless has N2O or Forced induction, either way, if you know how to drive you should pound his ass.

Ya mines automatic with t shifter I can control my cars gear first thru 3rd then I put into overdrive and put it in drive, its just a b16 big loud muffler with nothing else on it, 110 pounds of torque??? I already beat a S2000, a 5.0 mustang, and dodge neon srt4. I just didn't want it to run like this one.

ill tell you one thing, we had a 1.8 liter in our old miata and it gave us a steady 230ish and 240ish horses before we threw a rod out of the block.

A 1.6 with proper mods would'nt be something to snicker at.. but since you say he's got a fart-can and thats aboot it. id say make him suck hind tit

Actualy it helps alot more than you think, The tune gave me 30 more Horse power changing it to 93 octane and also put a shift kit which takes the clutch out of the automatic transmition, the intake I estimate added about 10 because we took one of the restricted parts off of it and drilled a bunch of holes in it so it could suck more air in.

Most parts for my mustang to mod are around 500-3,000 a pop, my muffler for my exhaust magnaflow exhaust was US $400 alone. which I seriously doubt I felt anything off of. With the diablo predator tune I can feal a difference, were it used to be putting out 240 pounds of torque now im putting out near 300 or maybe more.

Its obvious you don't understand how much these tuners do, they change the octane deactivate the oxygen sensor. The corvette we had which was a 2003 had 350 horses at the begining and just after we changed the airbox and put a K&N filter on it and put the diablo predator tune on it, we took it to our local dyno and it registered at 407.3 horsepower which is more than the z06 of that years model and it only costed around $600.

With a diablo tuner and a change of an airbox or a cold air intake I can increase the horspower of a car by 50 for under $1000 which is amazing, I could get my mustang a supercharger which would be $6000 and then it would have 400 horse power just like these.

Believe it or not I know exactly what tuners do, I personally tuned a 1.8l Turbo Miata with my father. He drove and I tuned while he drove, using a Haltec ECU and a Dell D500 laptop.

I wasnt trying to argue w/ you, all's im trying to say is that I've known plenty of properly tuned and moded cars with 1.6-1.8 liter motors that can easily beat tuned mustangs. Thats all I'm saying, but like I said before(i cant believe im quoting myself)

But a tune on a 160hp engine is only going to get it to like 180, he is going to have to have some form of power adder to make up the other 100 hp (N2O or forced induction).

And a tune on your mustang is not going to give you 40 hp especially a hand held tuner box, a real tune is with a data cable and a laptop where you tune it for your exact car and your mods, neither did it do that to the vette (the LS1 vettes are under rated on hp), at tune will give you like 20hp on a stock car, where a tune really helps is when you do major mods. On my old camaro I did a cam swap, roller rockers, and valve/head work, put some larger injectors on it, did a tune and gained ~125hp.

Trust me, his mustang is around a 14 second car, maybe high 13s with good tires and a good hook. Same as my 95 camaro when it was stock with 275hp/330torque. When it was 425hp it would run high 12's and with 600hp it would run low 12s (on street tires, on slicks more like 11.2s were possible). But it goes to show you once you hit the 13s and 12s it is very hard to get lower, takes 1000hp to get into 9s, 1800 to get to 7s, etc. And I dont mean 1000hp supra (they run 10-11s) I mean a 1000hp car that does not have the power curve or a chain saw.

The point is his car runs 14 flats no problem, that civic runs 16s, it will be a joke of a race, not worth the gas.

It will look like this:

Yea we reached the limit of our little cars performace when we got into the high 12's (took a year and a half of tuning to car to get a full second off our time) Becuase we'd modded the motor to the max, only thing left to do was swap to a 5.0 and start over on the powerplant. Weight difference and rear wheel drive also makes a difference when launching.

dude we downloaded the tunes off the internet just for my car, if you could ride in my car before the airbox and programmer and exhaust system you can tell a difference.
http://www.autoanything.com/performance ... 47642.aspx
Magnaflow exaust
and also made my airbox suck alot more air.
Ill take a video of me paying around when I get my car back.
