So yeah, i downloaded an assassin's Creed Game for PC (torrent) and it all works except it needs a CD (comes up with "Insert CD-ROM" when i run game.)

i've googled quite a long time and i found this no cd/dvd thing, but i dont want to download any viruses, and the ones i've downloaded didn't work

does anybody know a way to get rid of the problem?

Why not just burn it to a CD/DVD? You can also download PowerISO, which I have, if the game file is an .iso file and then just mount it on your HDD.

having the no cd/dvd crack means you can delete the original iso which means more space on the hdd. Burning it on a dvd takes space and you could lose it/scratch it. Easier if it's a crack.

Actually burning it onto a DVD will NOT work you'll get the same error. You need to download a NO-CD crack. Make sure there are plenty to comments on the torrent before you download so people will tell you if it contains a virus or not.

If theres an "image" file there (Not sure what the proper term is)

but you could Daemon tools, its like a virtual drive, which you can mount and use instead of burning and it means less effort. From when i've been playing, thats how i've always done it.

and i'm about to mount the iso once this damn computer extracts it... it takes like 15 minutes

**EDIT** i mounted it but when it ran it said enter the correct cd-rom?

i lfound that page, but i didn't think any of them were a no-CD crack, becaus enone of them were named that but since i didn't know what the other terms "trainer" and "unlocker" meant i didn't dl

i think trainer is just like hacks and unlocker unlocks all levels

i put a no-cd-crack, paste the archive in the folder of the game

or if your game is an .ISO use daemon tools to run it

A no CD/DVD cracked is often called a FIXED EXE file. Meaning you copy the EXE to the folder where the program is located and copy over the old one. Double click and bam, works.

yeah i figured that out lol

but yeah now i can run game fine, i just need a new vid card it's uber slow lol
