This is SUPER controversial. Video Game Violence DOES come into play in Real Life. American Army, a war game on PC, is actually encouraged by the army for recruits to play on if they have a computer that can handle it. Video games can be accurate portrayals of real war-violence, and some people are more affected by the game experience than others. I believe its safe to say that all of you here can handle this in-game violence and not associate it with what you should do in real life, but the truth of the matter is, there are billions of people in the world, and you can't lay this evidence down for every case. People are different. They have different pasts in the development of their moods and how they deal with emotions, and there will always be people who really SHOULDN'T play video games that require violent play. But will restricting violent games to be released to the public actually stop people from committing violent crimes/acts? hell no. prove to your parents you have the ability to distinguish right from wrong, and that alone can pretty much validate that you can handle these games without wanting to go murder somebody in cold-blood. People that Commit violent crimes usually have mental problems/deficiencies, which would be noticeable to a good parent/doctor/psychiatrist/psychologist. Parents who have kids that have learning/social disabilities should definitely be weary of setting their child loose on a game like counter-strike. But otherwise, if your parents don't want you to play this game, you've probably done something else to aggravate them, and that'd be your own damn fault. This article doesn't really prove anything. Looks itself to be just another "individual report" to me lol.

No matter what any report says there will always be a stupid innately violent kid who commits a crime, and Jack Thompson will be there to blame it on a game he played 4 years ago.

I completely agree. And it's so true that restricting violent video games will solve nothing.

I like violent games! All of my friends like violent games! If there were no more violent games, games like Viva Pinata would still not be cool. So, if you take away fun games, what is there to love?
