The only reason I would prefer this over the iPhone is because it has a physical keyboard and I can actually do open development on it. Whereas on an iphone your apps have to be approved

Unless you jailbreak... which is easy as hell... Either way you got Verizon so iPhone isn't an option. If I had money I would gotten a Nokia N95 or N97.

uhhmmmm i'm pretty sure that since the iphone and the ipod touch are 2 different things that law does NOT apply to the ipod.. They don't want you to jailbreak it cause if you do, you can change the carrier pretty easily

Jailbreaking Ipods or Iphones is not illegal. If I went to a cop and said mine was jailbroken they wouldn't do anything. Its completely legal, just frowned upon by Apple.

Iphone has a 10 year agreement with apple since the first Iphone so unless you want to wait a couple years then I suggest getting the Droid.

Iphone is an open source phone, because you can make it open source by jailbreaking it and using cydia's open source programs. And jailbreaking it is the simplest thing thanks to geohot now-a-days.

In your case I reccomend going with Droid since it is one of the best phones out right now and with the new Android 2 operating system with your talents I'm sure you can make an app worth selling to the world. And if you ever decided you want to play with Opensource on Iphone, there is always and Ipod touch.

^Just my two cents.

I meant that apple had a 4 year agreement with AT&T but it was mispelled with my iPhone.

It was confirmed yesterday by late 2010 verizon will be getting iPhone as it will be made in cmda. But that is still a while away.

I don't know what to tell you but maybe you should get stood and sign a year contract and upgrade to iPhone later?

I'm gonna be pissed if apple makes a better iPhone for verizon.

If it helps any I bought the BlackBerry Storm from Verizon and I love it. I think it looks way more slick than the iPhone plus I'm a huge fan of the touch/click screen. Although I think the iphone software flows more smoothly, I'm def. biased considering the Application button on BB's is the best thing ever.
