It shows up in your inbox from a known email address with the subject "Here you have..." Do NOT open this email. It contains a link that automatically downloads the malicious file. Once downloaded, it attempts to send an email copy to all of the contacts in the address book. It also will try to download itself onto other computers on the network. Norton/Symantec security programs block this virus, but others are unknown.

i've gotten a virus (different from this one) 3 times in 1 week and i had no idea how, and it's literally the biggest pain in the ass to get rid of, you can't use any programs or even open up a browser and it does this virus scan bullshit, and the only way known to get rid of it is using malwarebytes anti-malware and using a program called rkill, if you don't have rkill and have the virus, then you gotta restart your comp, and as SOON as your desktop appears, you gotta open up malwarebytes and scan, and that might take a couple of tries, and once you get rid of it, you have to fix your browser proxy settings to even use the internet

You can get rid of it manually too. I did it on my cousin's computer and mine once. Mine came when I downloaded an album from Pirate's Bay. It's pretty easy to get rid of. The stupid rogue software was called AV Security Suite
