Heyy,

So basically I'm curious what sort of training the American Military does to train their recruits; how long is training, what's involved and so on?

Only reason I'm curious is that because I'm planning on joining the Royal Air Force Regiment (Rock Apes) this year hopefully and I'm seeing what training we both do (whether it's the same or completely different if you get me?)

Thanks :)

Hmm I don't know about the Marines, navy and airforce but the the Army you have to go to basic for 9 weeks then after that it's based on what ever MOS you choose. I chose MP so the basic and AIT were put together for a total of 21 weeks <--- basic the entire time. Life sucked.

Ah fair enough, i mean for RAF Regiment basic training consists of 22 weeks, with maybe a weekend every 7 weeks at home (i think) looks tiring D:

For the us marine you go through 3 months of boot camp and after you go to 2 months of infantry school, but it also depends on your MOS. If you like a machine gunner or anti armor in infantry you'll go to your specialty training after getting the basic rifleman training. For me i'm an MP so i went for infantry school to MP school

I meant the 22 weeks looks tiring, and I don't even know if its 7 weeks, It might be 7 weeks til first weekend, then that's it.
