alright well the build is under way and im lost as to how I should transfer data to the new comp, I.E.-steam games, iTunes library, Window media library and so forth. Should I get a usb cable or just try it over the wi fi network? any ideas? thanks!

Got a router?

If you have, you can transfer the the data via that. Create a folder for it.. That's what I do, its pretty easyy.
