Close all your internet browsers when playing b/c it shares the online connection which increases ping. Also, don't download any type of file b/c that also increases it. That's all I know from my experience of ping problems. Hope I helped

Normally I average about a 60-100 ping, but lately I can't get it below 150. It's been spiking as high as 200.. I'm not feeling any direct lag, but I am noticing it effecting my reg. Not a big problem, but enough to annoy the hell out of me. My FPS hasn't changed at all, so I don't know what the problem could be. Could be a virus but, so far, nothing has shown up as infected. If anyone has any tips, or suggestions, I'd be most grateful! Thank you. note - I've tried restarting CZ, Steam, AND my computer.. So far, nothing. |

I know I'm not running Firefox while in game, and the only programs I have running while in game are Steam and Ventrilo.. So, there's no way anything can be downloading. I also checked Steam to make sure I wasn't downloading anything that I wasn't aware of, and found nothing there. I'm looking at every server right now through Steam - Servers, and currently averaging 150 as well. It's kind of annoying... |

Ok yeah... I just installed an overhaul on virus scanners, and I supposedly have 105 Registry Errors.. Hopefully that's the problem, and hopefully I take care of it. edit - Rawr.. Did absolutely nothing  I'm destined to have a high ping until my Grandparents come back with my grand, for a new computer..

Late April, early May or so.. I'll just have to take one for the team for a month, and dream of better days. I won't make the same mistake 3 times though, once I get that new computer I'm investing my money into some great anti-virus/adware/spyware programs.. None of this free crap, being cheap doesn't get you anywhere lol. |

Well, as fast as it magically appeared, it magically disappeared... I didn't do anything different, just was sitting watching TV and decided to look to see who was all playing and what do you know... Pings were normal. Don't know what caused it, and don't care for that matter.. That is, till it happens again *cue Twilight Zone theme* |

ive been bouncing 100-300 quite often and its really annoying, i think its my internet provider. But watch out ive noticed alot of servers change ur rates to like 1000 -.-, so just find it to change to 25000 or w/e you use and hit the key everytime you join a server.(other then splak since no1 fucks with it) |

Brick I had the same problem My ping was at 400 + then check steam I was dling unreal tournament -_- then I stopped it my ping went to 200, but then it went down to 90 (Never been this low in forever) I blame cz :P |

^ ROFL! BURN!!!!! mine is very unpredictable thanks to living an hour from anything resembling a large city with a metro area(Corpus Christi) but I still get a bad ass ping sometimes. Around 15 on low times and around 30-spiking to 100 on bad days. Because of a college grant for Texas A&M University Kingsville, they're expanding the internet connection to the University and partly the community(who's willing to pay for it). Hopefully I can get a connection thats fairly reliable soon. |
