I was talking to him too, and he said he cant find the virus cause its spyware and its coming up as different stuff. Something like that. Poor guy, i feel bad for him. I freak out when shiz like this happens to me.

his dad downloaded a fake antivirus program, and now he cant access the forums or google and apparantly many other sites on his web browser. he is wondering what he should do? |

I had that happen too. My dad did the same thing and I removed it from my computer. I restarted and guess what? My whole Windows XP crashed and I got mad at my dad. He didn't get it repaired until like 7 months later. He paid $300 so all I gotta say is GL buddy and I have no idea what I can advise to you. EDIT: Maybe he can upgrade to a new version of his browser? Ask him to try that. |

no idea i just had an idea, he could prob use the steam shift-tab browser. so ima tell him to use that to see if it works, or could someone tell him? cause im on mac right now and not running virtual machine. |

yep... gotta agree.... tell him to save his stuff on dvd's and then reformat.... he can use cd burner xp if he can install it  also tell him to try using the internet from a my computer window.. open My Computer ad then type in a web address there might just work

ALWAYS have a windows boot disk at hand for whatever operating system you have, be it vista or xp. He should probably reboot the operating system using the xp boot disk. |

Set up my crappy dell, gonna buy a new comp instead my dad downloaded the Personal AntiVirus thing makes you think you have tons of virus, saying you gotta pay to register it (Steal your credit card info) its a spyware, and I don't know how to reformat >_>
