You meant a "2.0 X16 pci express slot" not to nickpick but huge difference.
Good catch, it has a Pci express x16 slot, but I looked up the specs of the G31 chipset (northbridge) and it only has version 1.1 of pciexpress. You will be fine with it now, but in the future you may want to replace the motherboard to put in a better video card in the future.
That being said, 1.1 works with most 2.0 cards, and 3.0 is coming out soon. The 2.0 interface is twice the bandwith, but 1.1 is just now being maxed out.
This is why I build them myself, they use the cheapest shit they can find, and you don't find out until you do some digging.
