well, i gave it back to my friend and he took it back to the apple store... they fixed it for him cause he said it got stolen and he found out who it was and all... so basically they fixed the problem thanks for the help though guys

Same thing happened to mine only i could and did restore it. But i have a question... I was logged out of my itunes account and when i pressed restore it restored it by itself AND it did it for free... wtf is all that about? The only choices it gave me were cancel and restore and upgrade..

Be thankful it's free. Does 3.1 cost for iPod Touch too? I know the 3.0 did. I wanna upgrade my software from 2.2 to 3.1 bit I'm probably gonna screw up my phone.

the 3.1 costs 4.95 dollars... but yea, jailbreak your ipod, make sure you screw up and have to restore and sign outta itunes and then you'll get the upgrade for free xD (i'm downloading the 3.1.1 ispw to re-jailbreak my ipod touch..)
