can you ping out?
start>run>cmd
ping google.com
If you're getting a response, then attempt to download Malwarebytes on another computer, then transfer it over on a thumb.
Install>run full scan. Clear anything it tells you to.
Once that's done, go back to Internet explorer. Still verify that you don't have a proxy connection enabled. Also, go to your hosts file, and make sure you don't have a type of redirector.
Start>My Computer>C:/>Windows>System32>Drivers>etc.>hosts
Open with Notepad. Make sure you don't have anything pointing to somewhere you don't think it should be going.
A typical hosts file looks like this:
Now, if that doesn't work, let's make sure that you don't have a rogue AV locking down your firewall.
Remove EVERY SINGLE AV from your computer. I've seen McAfee/Norton/Symantec/AND AVG all lock down a firewall, and fuck everything up.
Let's make sure that that isn't the case.
If that doesn't work, please let me know, and we might have to dig deeper.
