I know video card is not good, but hes not playing any games. This computer is basically meant for speed.
This came out to 570 and if you added a good video card its would be like 800 tops and you could run every single game. What do you think?

I can't recommend that hard drive, it is the new version of this drive (which I can recommend):
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6822136319

Swap that chip for this chip (newer version, lower heat, same speed):
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6819103727

Buy a board that has USB3 and SATA3 (6.0) on it:

And you may want to move it up to 2x2gb memory.

AMD has new chips coming out this month, he can get a 6 core chip for that price in 30 or so days.

Thank you for the suggestions I didn't know the difference between the 140W and 125W and I assumed the 140W was better... :(. Do you really think the hexa-core chips are going to be the same price? I doubt it.

$200 for the 2.8/3.3 and $300 for the 3.3/3.6ghz chip (the higher number is these new chips have a turbo mode, like the Intel I7's).

140W vs 125W:
The watt is actually the heat produced by the chip at the stock voltage and speed. The 125w is a revised chip (C3 vs the old C2), which runs at the exact same speeds (and power) but runs cooler, which means a better running computer, and best of all, higher overclocking headroom. Sometimes with new steppings (revisions) they will do slight architectural changes and bug fixes, unless there are huge issues, the new stepping is normally the more sought after chip, and in this case increases the overclocking of the chip from about 3.8 to 4.0

The hex core chips will take a bios update, to work correctly, if you can handle that. If not, it will at least drive down the current chips prices, so a win-win for your friend.
