Hi there...

Recently with the new release of Windows 8 as well as many saved payments I have decided to come around and build my next gaming PC. I want to use this thread as platform for any users that may also want to build their own PC. I am looking for recommendations for computer components, the best possible for the best price. I am assuming to shell out a great performing rig, it will most likely cost around $1400 - 1600. I am comfortable with that, my last PC cost me around the same and I can say it definitely paid for itself in value.

I project to get everything assembled in the next two weeks to next month, so time is of the urgency!

As a starter, someone has recommended me this list:

I may have to double check everything, however it seems solid so far. Plus in total it's around $1300!

OCZ Agility 3 120GB use Async NAND, all the cheaper models of the sandforce drives have Async memory. People tend to have issues with these because of the cheap flash after a few months of use. For OCZ get the Vertex (3, max-iops, or 4), or Kingston HyperX, or Corsair Force GT, they all use intel SYNC NAND or samsung Toggle-DDR NAND. Also the Samsung 830 128GB and 256GB are the best rounded drives for the $$$ right now, and don't have the compressed file slowdowns of the sandforce drives.

I would find the cheapest 240gb (sync NAND sandforce) or 256 Crucial M4 or Samsung 830 you can find on sale over the next week.
128GB Samsung $90

256GB Samsung $189 (have this one in my pc, 2 servers at work running 80 user Citrix XenApp desktop, and a few other computers at work)

Both of those go one sale all the time on newegg, same with the Crucial M4 drives.

Get a videocard from this (28nm) gen, not last (40nm) gen. It looks like the 560ti 448 goes for about $220, thats the price of a GTX660 (non-ti). Which are more powerful, produce less heat, and has 2GB vram. The 660ti models go for closer to 300

Thanks for the updates Cole

I am hoping to assemble my final parts list next Friday and purchase them thereafter. I will post pics for interested parties of the finished product. I think the case I am going to get is going to look pretty cool lit up with all parts in motion.
