Honestly, I have to wonder. If they were murdered, would there be enough prestige in the act to make it an "assassination?" And if so, would that assassination be looked upon in infamy or wonder and celebration in history? Methinks the latter is most likely.
And, yes, I neglected to mention the soldiers and their families. They damn well would give two shits, they'd be ecstatic. I meant give a crap as in grieve for them.
