The problem with Ricky Gervais is that at first you go, man, this guy is a great actor.... then you see him in other things, and you go... wait... he plays the same character in everything. So yeah, he is not a great actor, that is just who he is... he is that guy... funny, creative guy, but not a good actor.

And yeah, I have actually not seen a single episode of the American "The Office" but the clips I have seen seems like its a much higher budget show. While I have seen the entire 1st season of the British one, I bet half the jokes went right past me either through cultural differences (like current events, pop culture, and political things in england), and the other half went past me from the language/dialect differences.

So yeah, I have them all recording on my DVR, and have been recording them all for years, but I missed the first few, need to watch those on my computer, then catch up on the TV.

Thats why hes such a good actor as he dosent need to act he himself goes into many roles...well thats what I think.

yeah, cole's brother has a season 1 of the UK version, i watched a few last year or so, and remember them being quite funny. though yes, i remember being confused at some of the "apparently i should be laughing here" places. but all in all, it will be a worthwhile purchase for me one day.
