Outperforms ATI's most expensive card, and keeps up with the 8800gts 640mb, and beats the 320mb 8800gts, all for around 250-300 bucks.

This is THE best card for under 400 bucks. And the $400 card hardly outperforms this one (talking 1fps difference).

Meh, I would rather buy a cheap 7950gtx (which should play all DX9 `till it dies I'd think).

The only reason why I would get an 8 series card is for the DX10 API, which makes no difference considering DX10.1 makes it completely obsolete.

Yeah, but a 7950 is not sold anymore on newegg, here are your sub $400 choices (minus the non gamer cards) in order of power on newegg.

$150-200 8600gt/s <-sucks balls, about equal to 6600gt + dx10 support
$90 7600gt
$110 7900gs (great budget card)
$290-350 8800gts 320 (2.5x the power of the 7900/50)
$250-290 8800gt (about 3x the power of a 7900/50)
$390-450 8800gts 640 (about 3x the power of a 7900/50)
