I have been reading about this for a couple of days now, and here is my take. First I'm not saying the accusations are not true... but as of right now, all the evidence in the case says that the school has tools to turn on the webcams in case the laptop was stolen, but in this case the webcam was never turned on. They were (most likely) looking at his browser history and he was going to porn sites, but they cannot release that info. I'm sure there will be an investigation, and time will tell... but the accusations are already out there, so the damage is done. So far, with what has been presented, no wrong doing. |

I also read this some days ago. I still don't think school should get involved from what students are doing at home. Off school hours should be the parents responsibility, not the school's. |

It's my understanding that the school provided the laptops. So... with that being said, you cannot presume any amount of privacy from a laptop that is not yours. :/ |

Some years on the slammers for that. |
