Minecraft goes into Beta on the 20th of Dec. Right now if you buy it you get unlimited updates, but after the 20th the price is increasing and the "forever updates" are being removed, unless you get it before the 20th :D

Im not in any rush on it, its an early build of the game, but for ~$13 I said why not, so I plan on setting up a minecraft server sometime in the future, woot a splak minecraft city!

I dont think thats completely true. From what I saw on Notch's twitter the otherday was that he was removing the idea of unlimited updates, so otherwords whether your from alpha or beta, you will always get the updates.

We will also change the license to remove the line that promises all future versions of the game for free. Please note that this change only affects people who buy the game after December 20, so if you got the game for during alpha, you will still get all future updates for free, despite this change. A promise is a promise.
Buying the game during beta will include all updates up until release, of course, and bug patches will be free.

The price is also increasing.

Thoughts on 1.8? I'm very excited for 1.9, wasn't very impressed with 1.8

i wish more of us would actually play this, i feel like it'd be a lot of fun with all the clan members. it's boring single player

Agreed. It would be very awesome =D Maybe if someone can start an event on the Splak Community Page it would be cool. Days wise, I'm free on Mondays. Server wise, I could host it, but it would give me horrible lag, if someone with a better rig can run the server, it would be awesome.

I plan on setting up a minecraft server soon, I had been waiting for it to go out of beta (since they change so much with each release).

LOL talking about change between versions, it added an NPC village right in the middle of my me and my friend's map and it took forever to take it out. I'm excited to see what 1.9 brings, 1.8 was like the half update and was very useless. The only thing I liked was the sprint and Giant Mushroom houses. If we have our own Splak server we should each have our own Mushroom homes
