I never made a map before so i dont know all of the stuff things stuff....like how to make breakable glass and breakable vents and doors that swing open and ladders. (ladders took me like 2 hours just to get them to work)

i've been working on splak_nuke for maybe a total of 15 hours? tell me what you guys think so far.

some of it isnt proportional but thats ok...

QUESTION: Is there an easy way to make ramps, and walls with curves on them instead of a straight wall? The way i've been doing it is making a small "wedge" brush and just hand turning it until it looks about right, then i make it bigger and place it where it needs to go.

How do you put weapons into the map?

Edit: nevermind, i've found it :D

Edit x2: How do I make them start off with an pistol/knife?

Use the point-entity tool (light bulb) to create a game_player_equip entity anywhere in your map. In its properties (alt + Enter) you will be able to set which weapons are given in the beginning of each round and how mush ammunition.

NOTE: More than one weapon of each category (Primary, Secondary, Granade) can be given. E.g. AWP, Scout, M4A1, USP, and Glock17 can all be held at the same time!

hmmm, i didnt either, maybe its a typo or we have to download more entities?

EDIT: I was look through the website that element posted and i found that the halflife entities have game_player_equip entity. I think we have to download it if we want to use it....


My Problem: I pressed "Alt + P" to see if i have any errors and this is what i got....

I clicked fix the problems on all of them and it said "fixed". so i closed the window and opened it back up, and the same thing showed up.

The problem happened when i was making railings clear. I pressed Ctrl T, and changed the renderamt to 255 so it will be clear. But when i open up that window it automatically sets the entity to the first one in the drop down scroll, which is button_target. Do i have to fix these problems or can my map still work? When i compile the map i get no errors and i can play the map just fine.

I looked at that, and said "wtf" because I couldnt find the game_player_equip. I know VMAN knows how to do it, but hes not on. damn you vman<3

Unless you gotta make it somehow, i just dunno how to tho.





Edit: I've figured it out, i needed some more fgd files, so I downloaded halflife-CS expert, extracted the file to my documents, in valve hammer, go tools > options > game configs > add game data files, find the file and add it. You'll have more entity tools.

nah i had this problem too storm and chunky heres a link to the fgd.file:

put that in your C/program files/valve hammer editor(or whereever you downloaded valve hammer editor to)/fgd/counter strike and put it in there

you know what you setup hammer? when you goto tools>options goto game config. tab and you'll find a box that says game data files, browse it to the fgd folder you put it in and choose the one you downloaded and you'll have the new entities

you dont have to put it in there, you can put it wherever, it still works fine.

Are there any other entities i should know about downloading? :?:

Is there away to use game_player_equip so that a certain team gets usp and the other gets glock or something?

I know you can do it, cos its how it is on awp_maps. If anyone knows, and tells me. I <3 you.
