Need For Speed: World, if you havent heard, is now an online game for PC users. Where everyone in the world, joins together to race.

Sure, it seems like a good idea, which it can be. There are definitely problems, even in this last beta stage. Below, are some of the problems or frustrating things i've encounted.

1. Powersup ruin the game - thats right, powerups. You get 4 sections, with 4 boxes inside the section. Each section is represented by it's usage (Explore, Circuit, Spint, Pursuit) - the powersup are basically, nitro, traffic magnet (traffic goes for car in #1), slingshot (like nitro but better) and others. I personally think this has ruined the game.

2. The ping or lag issues. As people are from across the world, you could think you are in spot #1, but when you finish the race you'll find out you're actually in last place or something, where they would have ultra-lagged passed you. Or, when they hit you, they'll spin off yet still have much more speed than you to spin past you - even if you're not spinning.

3. Custimisation - it's not bad, they could have added more of a range of objects to be able to colour, but not much of a problem.

4. Pursuits. The best thing in the actual game, apart from one thing. The pursuit bar goes to red way to quick, if you hit one car, to slow you done enough for police you be right next you, when you're about 50-60+ on the speed, you'll get nabbed.

I bought this game hoping it would be fairly good, which it is. I'm just hoping that EA will make some seriously changes before it's official release next month.

You can buy a starter kit too, which I done to be able to play this last beta. Not a bad price, but the beta's could have been longer.

My score: 7.5/10

NFS Underground was the best of all the Need for Speed IMO.

Maaannn... back in the day I had Need for Speed III: Hot Pursuit on the PC and the PC steering wheel/pedels.... hours of fun.

NFS Underground was a lifestyle, that game was truely amazing. Spinners, Neon Lights, Hydrolics. the works. Kinda ricer but hey, its a game...

NFS:Shift, I have the demo and the learning curve is really high but the presentation is just beautiful. All the cars have distinct sounds, the tires screeching is spot on and the overall damage done to your car can effect the way your car maneuvers. Good game on paper but high learning curve.
I love the inside view and actually getting to see the driver shift when the car does, it gives it a more realistic feel.

I kinda gave up on the NFS series, all of them seem like they don't bring anything new to the table and its the same high speed cop chases with the ever expanding customizations. It's still a fun game to play every now and then though.

Shift was alright, just not the same on a track than it is in the city.

The only NFS I have ever played, NFS1, on the 3DO (my friend had this, when I was like 11, we played it a shit ton), the lambo diablo was awesome, you got these little clips while the game loaded (depending on what car you picked):
