Read the 1st page. To keep this explanation as short as possible, we used to have splak.forumsplace.com as our forum host, they were free (with an ad banner) but after about a year, they got slow as shit, like 30 seconds to 1 minute for a page to load. They owner had sold to another guy, who just let it go to shit, their own support forums were nothing but spam bots posting about dick pills. Now their whole site seems to be just as slow (it finally loaded for me). Go here, and imagine splak forums running this slow (and laugh at all the spam while you are at it):

So they were more or less charging $175 to give us a copy of the DB, so we could import it into our new forums (hosted on my splak.net site). So we said fuck that, copied the important posts (which is why some post by pepto is stuff I actually wrote, and vice versa) and started fresh over on these forums. Some people were upset (had 1000+ post lost forever), but I personally think it was a necessary move and we are much better off now.
I locked down the old forums, to keep as an archive, but it evenentually was deleted (from inactivity?).
