Today, April 22nd is the day
Richard Milhous Nixon; our 37th President, died.
Here is a little summary of what a great man he was...
Richard Milhous Nixon was born on January 9th, 1913. He graduated from Duke School of Law. After Peal Harbor he felt the need to help out his country so he joined the Navy, during his time he rose his rank to Lieutenant Commander.
In 1946, he was elected as a Republican to the House of Representatives and in 1950 to the Senate. He was chosen by none other than the great Dwight D. Eisenhower, he served as Vice-President from 1953 to 1961. Finally his time rose, Richard Milhous Nixon was elected President in 1968.
Immediately, he was put in the position of handling the Vietnam War. Soon after resolving the conflict in North Vietnam he successfully withdrew US troops from Vietnam. After, he worked on this very successful Foreign Policy. He opened relations with China and initiated a détente with the Soviet Union.
Richard Milhous Nixon was a good man, not only when it came to the tough politics he had to deal with but the Earth. He created many programs helping out the earth and pollution.
