Need For Speed: World, if you havent heard, is now an online game for PC users. Where everyone in the world, joins together to race.
Sure, it seems like a good idea, which it can be. There are definitely problems, even in this last beta stage. Below, are some of the problems or frustrating things i've encounted.
1. Powersup ruin the game - thats right, powerups. You get 4 sections, with 4 boxes inside the section. Each section is represented by it's usage (Explore, Circuit, Spint, Pursuit) - the powersup are basically, nitro, traffic magnet (traffic goes for car in #1), slingshot (like nitro but better) and others. I personally think this has ruined the game.
2. The ping or lag issues. As people are from across the world, you could think you are in spot #1, but when you finish the race you'll find out you're actually in last place or something, where they would have ultra-lagged passed you. Or, when they hit you, they'll spin off yet still have much more speed than you to spin past you - even if you're not spinning.
3. Custimisation - it's not bad, they could have added more of a range of objects to be able to colour, but not much of a problem.
4. Pursuits. The best thing in the actual game, apart from one thing. The pursuit bar goes to red way to quick, if you hit one car, to slow you done enough for police you be right next you, when you're about 50-60+ on the speed, you'll get nabbed.
I bought this game hoping it would be fairly good, which it is. I'm just hoping that EA will make some seriously changes before it's official release next month.
You can buy a starter kit too, which I done to be able to play this last beta. Not a bad price, but the beta's could have been longer.
My score: 7.5/10
