Agree with Display, I want to see how much Valve has put into it. For now honestly (sad to say) it just looks like CSS on the Source 2 engine.
More like CS:S on the Portal 2 / DOTA2 engine. Its still the source engine, same engine that the current CS:source is on, just with more eye candy. CS:S was upgraded to the Orange box engine a little while back, along with every single other source game. Portal 2 had a few minor engine changes.
GS:GO is CS:S with:
-reworked/improved maps
-a texture upgrade,
-an update to the latest engine build,
-molotovs and dummy grenades
-a new machine gun
-item pricing changes
-buy system is now in a circle instead of a row (you can still use then numbers)
-5v5 (possible other options) matchmaking (they learned how do to this from building DOTA2 on source)
-Cross platform (easy, since portal2 already added it to this engine)
You can still run custom servers and maps, but the matchmaking is there, its a nice addition. All these things they added were needed, luckily they are really simple since they didn't have to re-write the engine, all the matchmaking was already there from DOTA2. If you really like CS:S, and how it plays, but are ready for improvements, then this is a great game.
They have been really quiet about the game modes, this is what I am interested in, make the game fun valve!
