SSD:
OCZ Agility 3 120GB use Async NAND, all the cheaper models of the sandforce drives have Async memory. People tend to have issues with these because of the cheap flash after a few months of use. For OCZ get the Vertex (3, max-iops, or 4), or Kingston HyperX, or Corsair Force GT, they all use intel SYNC NAND or samsung Toggle-DDR NAND. Also the Samsung 830 128GB and 256GB are the best rounded drives for the $$$ right now, and don't have the compressed file slowdowns of the sandforce drives.
I would find the cheapest 240gb (sync NAND sandforce) or 256 Crucial M4 or Samsung 830 you can find on sale over the next week.
128GB Samsung $90
