Bi partisanship ftl. :(

Quote:
I have already intimated to you the danger of parties in the State, with particular reference to the founding of them on geographical discriminations. Let me now take a more comprehensive view, and warn you in the most solemn manner against the baneful effects of the spirit of party generally.

This spirit, unfortunately, is inseparable from our nature, having its root in the strongest passions of the human mind. It exists under different shapes in all governments, more or less stifled, controlled, or repressed; but, in those of the popular form, it is seen in its greatest rankness, and is truly their worst enemy.

The alternate domination of one faction over another, sharpened by the spirit of revenge, natural to party dissension, which in different ages and countries has perpetrated the most horrid enormities, is itself a frightful despotism. But this leads at length to a more formal and permanent despotism. The disorders and miseries which result gradually incline the minds of men to seek security and repose in the absolute power of an individual; and sooner or later the chief of some prevailing faction, more able or more fortunate than his competitors, turns this disposition to the purposes of his own elevation, on the ruins of public liberty.

George Washington
Farewell Address 1796

THAT good sir is why our country is crumbling...

Please don't think it is just one person...

That's one of the points I'm trying to convey. When people compete there is always a loser. And when people make a career out of it it gets even worse. Washington FTW!

And you better be careful reaper, you might get called a terroist and go to Gitmo with harold and kumar.

I'm all set with giving in to one person's opinion. Although I concur with a majority of his opinions, I would like to think I can compose my own thoughts on an issue and not just listen to one persons.

That's probably why you think voting isn't important. Instead of working to get your opinions voiced, you'd rather accept other's opinions and then say that it was your only choice or that you had no choice at all. Your elitist theory seems to be extravagant. Then again, I could be living in a dreamworld but if I am, so be it.

I was joking around. I loved what he said, and I made a jovial post about it.

I understand you would like to think you can compose your own thoughts on an issue and not just listen to one person's. I would too.

That's not why I think voting is unimportant. And "Instead of working to get your opinions voiced, you'd rather accept other's opinions and then say that it was your only choice or that you had no choice at all"<< That's not true at all. Again, my statement was a joke. You're throwing some very heavy words around and attacking me. Be careful of that.

I don't have an 'elitist theory'...

Take a joke man.

I apologize for not reading your tone the right way.

Yes, I am very careful of what I say.

As for the personal attacks, I didn't mean for it to be personal. However, it came off that way so I apologize again. Just talking and I mean no harm of it outside of this post. Much <3 :D

Voted for RP.

Now that he won't make the Republican nominee though, I will abstain. I won't vote for the lesser of the two evils, and I'll be damned if my vote that doesn't fulfill my strict guidelines that RP did:

1) A Man with serious balls.

Compared to our current president, who has only proved himself to walk with his thumb up his ass.

I disagree.

I truly believe the only thing that hindered Bush as a president was his poor public speaking skills.

The media caught on to that early and spun it to seem like he was just dumb and then the sheeple followed.

You don't get an MBA from Yale if your stupid. I don't care who you are.

The opportunity to have Bin Laden's head on a plate, but declined to go in and do it

To put us in a recession that my generation will have to pay off

Disregarding and acting outside of the Constitution

Destroying our reputation as a nation outside of the United States

Placing high level persons and big business over the general American public

I will agree that every time I hear Bush talk all I want to say is "Bulllllllshit," but his poor public speaking skills and even the above statements don't even scratch the surface.

Sure, graduating from Yale may not make you stupid, but it doesn't make you smart either. And in no way does it make you a leader.

I would rather have a box of Tic-Tacs as a president.

As long as we're both in understanding, then there was no harm done. I'm sorry if the tone in my most previous post was a bit irate, but I was just upset when I wrote the post.

Much <3 for the Patriot :D

As for voting, I'm sorry, but I don't see it as my civic duty if my civic duty is rendered almost entirely disabled by the whim of one or more people whom I don't know and trust. If this were a real democracy where the people's votes counted in the highest of matters, then maybe I'd give a shit(or a vote, haha). However, in the end, the "Electoral College" as I understand it, is the one that casts the last vote. Sure, the numbers may convince a few to vote our way, but we all know there's at least ONE guy in there who's voting for his own reasons and no one else's. I mean, COME ON!

Consider it bitter of me to speak about voting this way because I feel cheated(whether I am or not). However, I do still vote. And plan to keep on voting. The fact that I can be a part of those numbers, which stand for something better than what was given to us, is enough to make me go out and vote. Still, if someone else doesn't feel the same way as me, I won't try to change their minds. That's where my enthusiasm stops.

This same arguement can be made for Clinton too...

1. After the WTC Bombing in 91 Clinton had the opportunity to save the lives of every single person who died in the 2001 assault by having him killed/captured but he chose not to do anything about it. (possibly a rock in his general direction or something)

2. Blame it on the war if you want but its a TON of different things that caused the recession predominately poor business practices and the Government having to bail out the large corporations. We were entering a recession before Clinton left the Whitehouse but it just wasn't noticeable until GW took office.

3. CLINTON LIED TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. Then to insult us further, requested the definition for the word "is". Do you not think that that was unconstitutional?

4. There's alot of shit going on this world right now. It is easy to blame it on an administration/country and say that this is where our problem lies.
Given the situation in Iraq as an example. If you have a media that is spewing out nothing but the bad...do you not think that the rest of the world will believe that what we are doing over there is bad? Hell if your "own people think your a bad country" then you must be...

We are helping people rebuild their lives after being oppressed by a madman and his sons that killed people for the hell of it. You dont see the good coming from there unless you ask people who are actually over there(the soldiers)

They make friends. They help people. They meet the grateful. You wont see these people on CNN. Sorry. They prefer to show you the poor souls who were caught in a crossfire. Or were in the wrong place at the wrong time. What did you think was going to happen when the crazy fucks from 1969 UC Berkley made it into power? They are forcing their agenda onto us through the news.

5. What do you think Nafta is doing?
Out sourcing all of the American peoples jobs. Globalization means that the US WILL fall. Period. Don't believe me, look at France. It wont be too much longer. Possibly a hundred years or so. They will fall. But i bet big business is getting rich anyways. This was set up during Clinton's administration btw.

I agree with the final statement partly. A degree from Yale DOES make you smart. It however does not make you a leader. But, we had someone who stuck to their goals and did not flip flop around on issues. (AHEM. Kerry/Gore) I don't think that GW is the best president ever, but i DO believe that He is a TON better than the FUCKTARDS that were our other options. I would STILL vote for Bush again over Obama/McCain/Clinton if given the opportunity. I may not agree with every decision he's made...but who is perfect. No one will ever be. Besides maybe a Tic-tac.

My point being here i guess is...

regardless of what you want to say...there is a second side to everything. People may choose not to see it...but it is there.

Missed the part where Bush bi-passed the UN and entered Iraq anyways with out the support of the...World.

I am not a blame bush on everything type of person. there were many other people that fucked up the whole Iraq thing other than him. unfortunately, he gets all of the blame because he's president; goes along with the job i guess.

:?
